Kingdom Break-through Worship
In recent weeks, as we’ve been seeing a greater outpouring of God’s presence in our Sunday AM services, I’ve noticed how the worship time seems to include the moments when I sense the greatest amount of Holy Spirit power. This should come as no surprise to us. As scripture states, God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22: 3) and where God is, so is His in-breaking Kingdom. It’s also been our history in the Vineyard that when God begins pouring out His Spirit in increased ways, we always experience a greater level of God’s presence in midst of our songs of praise and worship. As a matter of fact, one of the Vineyard’s biggest influences on the church of Jesus Christ over the last 30 years has been the music that has been released during times of refreshing and renewal.
This morning, I pulled out my old worn copy of Winds of Worship 7 CD featuring Vineyard worship leader, Andy Park and Brownsville worship leader, Lindell Cooley. Recorded live back in 1995 during the height of the Brownsville revival, this CD has cut after cut of anointed worship songs. As I sat on my couch, I started to sing along, and as I began to recall the power encounters we all experienced back then, the Spirit of God hit me! I’m telling you right now (one of the Todd Bentley-isms we’re starting to kid each other with around our house), I could barely keep myself from falling off the couch! WOW! The Spirit hit me and I began shaking once more! It is amazing to experience the power of worship when sung from the heart that is awakening to God! There is just nothing like it!
As I see it, the music that will fuel the winds of revival in 2008 are yet to be sung. My prayer is that our worship leaders and others around the world will begin asking the Lord for the fresh heart-filled songs that God will anoint to sweep people into these winds of worship! More LORD!
